I want my bath water to have the same salt content as the ocean. How many cups of salt for a regular sized tub?

I want my bath water to have the same salt content as the ocean. How many cups of salt would I need to add to an average size bathtub to achieve this? Would regular iodized salt work to simulate an ocean water bath?I want my bath water to have the same salt content as the ocean. How many cups of salt for a regular sized tub?
let's assume your tub is 5 ft x 2.5 ft x 17 '; deep and let's assume the salinity of ocean water is 3.5%... ie 3.5 g NaCl / 100 g seawater ----%26gt; 3.5 g salt / 96.5 g water.

5ft x 2.5 ft x 17 in x (12 in / 1 ft)² x (2.54 cm / 1 in)³ x (1 mL / 1 cm³) x (1 g / mL) x (3.5 g salt / 96.5 g water) x (1 lb / 454g) = 40 lbs salt

that's about one big bag of morton salt (like the bags for a water softener) per tub of water. And yes that will simulate the ';salinity'; of the ocean water.I want my bath water to have the same salt content as the ocean. How many cups of salt for a regular sized tub?
Ocean water has about 3.5% salinity. (1/2 cup for each gallon, I think.) You can buy sea salt at the store.

However there is a lot more going on in the ocean than just salt! Check out this article...really interesting!

you can't simulate ocean water,

different salts,

different minerals,

just a bad idea overall...
Why don't you go to the nearest ocean and get your bath water? Wouldn't that be easier? That way you'll have the real thing. Good Luck!
