I have an old style bath tub and it is stained, i do not know what type material it is but its not fiberglas?

can i paint or restore it?I have an old style bath tub and it is stained, i do not know what type material it is but its not fiberglas?
Depending upon several factors, it could be steel or cast iron.

I assume you must have tried to remove the stains. Once you determine the material, contact any manufacturer and they should have a solution.

Painting/restoring? Trust me on this: you WILL need a professional to do it. Do NOT try it yourself.I have done this many times. Any paint outlet or plumbing supply outlet will give you a name/number.I have an old style bath tub and it is stained, i do not know what type material it is but its not fiberglas?
if its not fibreglass it could be acrylic which is more or less the same thing or it will be steel or cast iron.I cant tell from the question if you are UK or US but in the UK there are companies that can recoat the bath with a special enamel but unless you really want to keep the bath in many cases it would be cheaper to replace the bath although a new cast iron bath is ouch how much
Sounds like it is enamel. Yes, it can be restored, but first take the easy route and try cleaning it with a good stain removing cleanser. CLR comes to mind, works well, and can be found in most grocery stores or DIY centers.
It can be refinished. You can purchase a kit yourself from a home improvement store or have it professionally done. Just use a search engine and type in tub refinishing!
Hi ! Yes you can diy or have the pro's do it. Not sure what your budget is ? Go to lowes and ask about the bath tub restore kits .
