How can I remove them?I have just moved into a smaller apartment. The bath tub has stubborn stains of many years.?
You may not be able. Years of using abrasives such as Comet or Ajax may have worn off the surface......still try this:
Determine what type of stain it is that you are trying to remove from your bathtub. Is it a red or brown stain that might be rust? Is it a blue, green, or white stain? You may be dealing with limescale. Different stains require different removal methods.
Step 2Start out simple. Clean your bathtub with a soap scum removing bathroom cleaner. Soap scum can trap dirt and oils and can be hard to remove. Even if soap scum is not your stain problem, it will make cleaning your stain easier if the tub is free of residue.
Step 3Try removing your stain with a magic eraser type sponge. These sponges remove all sorts of stains without the use of any kind of cleaner. Lightly dampen the eraser sponge and rub gently at the stain. If it looks like some of the stain is coming off, keep at it.
Step 4Remove stains using baking soda. Just sprinkle the baking soda on the stain and scrub at it using a sponge. A little elbow grease may get out your stain.
Step 5Remove rust stains from your bathtub by using salt and lemon. Sprinkle a size-able amount of salt over your rust stain and then saturate it with fresh lemon juice. Let the mixture sit for several hours or overnight.
Step 6Use a pumice stone if all else fails. A pumice stone is a piece of gray lava rock material that you scrub directly onto the stain. The rock will not scratch your bathtub and removes most stains. Do not use a pumice stone on chrome.I have just moved into a smaller apartment. The bath tub has stubborn stains of many years.?
Use iron Out, sprinkle some in the tub or anywhere where you have stains, add hot water let it sit overnight the next day rinse and your tub etc... should be spotless , one word of advise ! keep the windows open when you add the hot water to the iron out , I have used this product for many years and it really works , on everything that is white and stained .
