Help cleaning a bath tub....?

My Mom just got married and she is now living in a house in which 2 man have lived in for years.


The bathub and surrounding enclosure are BAD.. they are SO DIRTY. She has tried scrubbing it but to no avail. Only a little comes off... she also has a bad back and can't scrub a lot.


Replacing it is not an option right now...


Anyone know of some strong cleaners that will help this... ?

Hiiiiiii, I don't know if it looks like a floor I had to clean but I'm sure it's the same material......It's going to take a while maybe a couple of days repeating this treatment.......Yes softscrub is good for after major cleaning. try a overnight mixture that will elimate some of the back work also use a brillo pad with scrubbing....OK here goes:mix some clorox,comet/any disinfectant soap like mr pine or stronger,spray on tub heavily for the first couple of times let sit for an hour use brillo pad to scrub repeat daily until you see a change or bi weekly...I pray this helps/ By the way glad to hear from you,Blessings Always........Blessings Yahoo
Try using some liquid dishwasher detergent... Put a thin film all over the tub and let it sit for awhile 30 min or so... Rinse the entire tub with really HOT water and it should get the dirt/scum off... Then get some auto wax and give it a good rub down... It will keep future dirt/grime off the tub surface!
She could use a daily shower cleaner for a few weeks, then when she tries to clean it again it will be a lot easier.





Otherwise, I used to use comet when I lived with three piggy bachelors.
Softscrub and a degreaser like awesome. You will need a good brush or 3M green scrubber. Apply and agitate let set for a few minutes and add some water agitate and rinse. You may have to do it a couple of times but it will work....
in Wall mart down the cleaning isles look for a cleaning stone not sure what it is called, you can only use it on certain surfaces
Use COMET or AJAX it will clean it but you do have to scrub if she has a bad back maybe you could do it or her new husband could
