i don't see this answer anywhere.
there is an AIR IN A CAN SYSTEM that you can purchase at the hardware store. it's not cheap, but it's cheaper than calling a plumber. I USE THIS SYSTEM.
you block ALL water overflow holes so no air can come out at those points. take the stopper out of the drain.
the system contains some rubber fittings and a can of pressurized air. now you only get about 10 QUICK BURSTS OF AIR so it's not good to try to hold the air BLASTS on for to long, only a couple of seconds at a time.
the point is for the AIR PRESSURE TO BLOW THE CLOG out of the drain pipe and into the sewer pipe. you need to keep things as air tight as you can so the pressure is put onto the clog . like blowing up a rubber glove, lets say.
it's called POWER PLUMBER. it's a kit, when you run out of air you can purchase just the canned air, but they cost about $10.00 just for the can. the whole system cost me about $15.00 i think.
hope this helps. it's worked for me several times.
good luckCannot unclog bath tub? we've tried hot water, plunging %26amp; an auger?
Drain cleaner maybe?
PLUMBER'S ANSWER....before bedding down, pour a cup of bleach into the drain and let stand overnight. Bleach evaporates hair etc. I know this is the best answer verses, calling a plumber and expensing your cash flow.
Could try bleach. Then again maybe the pipe collapsed or tree roots is clogging it.
sometimes its as easy as looking down the drain with a flashlight and pulling all the hair you see with a pair of needlenose pliars if you when down clean out and it went thru p-trap you either didnt go far enough or your laterall line is clogged way down the line
Drano?
